Education for the Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year

In March 2020, Governor Inslee closed Washington's K-12 schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Many in private schools had transitioned to online learning prior to this, while many others followed suit shortly after the closing of public schools.

In May 2020 The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), the primary agency which oversees K-12 education in WA state, gathered more than 100 educators, education leaders, elected officials, parents and others in a workgroup to outline a plan for a non-traditional start of the 2020-2021 school year.

What we know:

Traditional, on-site, face-to-face school will not take place for the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year (at the least).
